We're not complainin', we're just sayin' ... it's tough doing what we do in this industry! 

To solve the problem you need to know the problem, so with the moderation and perspective from our friends at Breakthrough Academy, we'll dive into some of the big pain points that we face in our industry. Stuff like:

• Setting expectations with clients and our building partners
• Operations flow charts
• TIME. Where do we find the hours to work on the business rather than in it?
• Securing new business without compromising on existing business
• Scaling
• The sweat-inducing Oh s***! moments

Our panel:

The Builder: Our very own Byron Brooks has been doing his best to promote other voices in our industry, but despite his protestations, we're putting him on stage to share his wide-ranging experience. Most recently Byron has joined the Alair group, and runs Calgary's operations. 

The Architect/Designer: Meghan Bannon is the co-founder of Mera Studio Architects, which specializes in a diverse range of sectors: food & beverage, hospitality, and residential architecture & interiors. She and co-founder Tara Marshall also curate Very Very Shop; where you’ll find something that’s very, very you.

The Trades Owner: Curt Janzen is the CEO of the ever-growing Beyond Group. They offer insulation, lifting, roofing, and thermal. The first time I met Curt we got into a casual discussion about various operating methods. He doesn't know this, but I still lean on some of his reflections in that conversation today, so I can't wait to see what he has to offer our community on October 2nd!

The Host: Benji Carlson is the host of the Contractor Evolution show by Breakthrough Academy. A former contractor himself, he's helped guide over 139,200 contractors through the podcast, specialized training, and hands-on business coaching. He's obsessed with contractor-specific education that is actually USEFUL in a world that’s bloated with cookie-cutter advice.
